Chi & Brad: North Queensland Investors
With a strong desire to get their money working harder for them, Chi and Brad decided to invest in the Brisbane property market. Living in Cairns and unfamiliar with the best suburbs to buy in, they decided to engage the help of a buyer’s agent who had the market knowledge and connections they needed. After interviewing several buyer’s agents, they settled on Property Navigation.
Knowing Brad worked in property maintenance and had all of the skills needed to tackle a ‘fixer upper’, we decided to play to this strength and find a home that needed renovations to quickly increase the property’s value.
Within three weeks, we found an ideal property in the Redlands, Queensland. It had four bedrooms, two bathrooms and a double garage but also needed a new kitchen, paint throughout and several maintenance issues fixed. It was listed at $575,000, but we secured it for $560,000.
After settlement, Brad flew down and renovated the property over eight weeks. Before the renovations, the rent wasn’t expected to exceed $580 per week. However, the property now rents for $620 per week, and comparable sales have the home now valued at over $670,000.
Reviews
What other happy customers say.
“Not knowing the market and not being familiar with Brisbane ourselves, we thought it wise to engage someone with the market knowledge and connections to help us find what we were looking for.
I really liked that Boyd was honest with us and easy to communicate with. I felt I could call him to ask questions at any time. He also provided us with the data that backed up his recommendations on suburbs that were our best investment options, given our price bracket.”
“The process with Boyd went quite quickly. He was able to identify a property straight away. He also had a good relationship with the real estate agent selling the property, which gave us an advantage in negotiations. We were pretty surprised that we ended up buying the first property he presented, but it ended up being a great investment.”
